Squatting with knees past the toes is bad

Myth: Squatting with your knees past your toes is bad.

Truth: Not sure how this one got started. It’s been around for years. A 2003 study showed that if you limit the range of motion of the knees, to parallel to the toes, the stress is reduced. So,  limiting knees might reduce the stress by 28 %, but increases the stress on the back and hips by over 1000 %. So which do you prefer? Nothing in the study or any other study said that the extra stress when going past the toes is bad. The body will adjust and get stronger.
