Myth: Eat 6 smaller meals a day to increase metabolism


Truth: Studies so far have shown that there is no change in metabolism eating 6 meals vs 3 meals with the exact same number of calories. This is an interesting one, because for some eating 6 small meals works, but for different reasons (nothing to do with higher metabolism). This has more to do with being able to hold off until the next meal. Knowing that the next meal will come soon, makes it easier to eat smaller portions (for some people). Again, this is psychological. For others it doesn’t work.

P.S. The healthy goat doesn’t understand the hulabaloo over number of meals. Then again, he’s a goat…he can eat anything.
