Deadlifts, squats and hormones

Myth: Deadlifts and squats increases growth hormone (GH) and testosterone which helps you build muscle.

Truth: Yes, there is a temporary spike in GH and testosterone due to these compound exercises. However, research shows that this does not contribute to protein synthesis and muscle growth or strength. What is more important is the resting levels of these hormones.
