Body-Solid Pro Power Rack

Okay folks, so last time we talked about the PowerLine PPR200X Power Rack as being the best bang for your buck (click for review). This one is on the cheaper end of the spectrum, but still a good buy for beginners. Today we’ll talk about one that’s mid range and works for more advanced lifters. The Body-Solid Pro Power Rack. This one is a little pricier, but more sturdy. Here’s the low down on this power rack.

The Good It sports a large working area and can support up to 800 lbs. Reviews are very positive with an average of about 4.8 stars out of 5 on Amazon, from 39 reviews. Prices start as as low as$595.00. So, already it supports more weight than the PowerLine PPR200X Power Rack which maxes out at 500 lbs. Also, due to the large work area, bigger guys have lots of room to maneuver and there’s plenty of space for shoulder presses. Now if you want to upgrade, there are many attachments you can purchase to increase the features of this particular power rack.

The not so good  It does take up a lot of space. This is the price you pay for more room to work within the frame. It is pretty heavy and not easy to maneuver when assembled. So, make sure you have it in a spot that you definitely want to work out in, otherwise you would have to disassemble it to move it elsewhere. Now, the assembly itself takes some time but, does come with detailed instructions.

Pros

  • Supports up to 800 lbs
  • Large enough for bigger lifters
  • Supports 20 positions
  • Sturdy construction

Cons

  • Large size requires more space
  • Hard to move once assembled
  • Takes a long time to assemble

Final thoughts The Body-Solid Pro Power Rack is a mid-range power rack, that even advanced lifters can benefit from. It is very stable and does not require bolting down. If your’re a more advanced lifter or a guy with a large frame, it definitely has room for you too perform all your workouts. It does take up a lot of space, but like I said, you don’t feel cramped in the frame. If you want the extra frills, like a bench, weights etc. these can be purchased separately. This is a sturdy no frills power rack that will last.

  1. Very informative review of this Body-Solid Pro Power Rack. My son would love this. He loves to lift weights. He gets great definition.
We don’t have room for this in the house. It looks like it takes up a lot of space. I do body pump at the gym so I know how good it is to lift weights. I know if we had room in the house my son would get one!
Great review of this Power Rack.
