Myth: Type 2 diabetes is permanent

Myth: If you have type 2 diabetes, it is always necessary to control it with medication.

Truth: Nope, not true. Many studies have shown that, changing your diet to a low carb/low sugar  one and following at least a moderate intensity workout regimen greatly helps in controlling type 2 diabetes. This is to the point of not having to take medication anymore. In some cases either intervention or a combination of the two led to the individual no longer being diabetic. From improving insulin sensitivity to fully restoring the function of the beta cells which produce insulin. Now, in other cases it might be so severe that medication is necessary. So, be smart and check with your doctor before embarking going off your meds and embarking on a diet and exercise regimen.
